It's one of the 35,000 decisions you made today to read this. And if you read this, this must be something special to you!

Anti-Sunflower, What?

Actually, I've thought about why I'm able to work more during the night hours more than any day time. My brain feels more working after 8 pm and much more working after 11 pm. Even some days, when I try to sleep early, creative thoughts come to my mind. I've been researching why night proves to be a good time for me.

The world has coined the term Night Owl for such people. I came across a captivating article by Kathryn Schulz where one part made me understand the 'Night owl' thing:

"It starts, as I said, around 10 p.m., when something ticks over in my mind, as if someone had walked into a shuttered cabin and flipped all the switches in the fuse box to 'on.' For the first time all day, I get interested in writing. As a corollary, I get a lot less interested in everything else."

Did it help me?

Actually being a night owl helped me achieve many of my goals:

  • I was able to work on things distraction-free of people.
  • Able to concentrate and churn out creative things.
  • Discover new slowed and satisfying music.

Anti-Perks: Got more mosquito bites

I live in a hostel where mosquitoes too reside in abundance, so staying late at night under the spotlight aids their biting proportionally or exponentially.

Should you try it?

Maybe you can and it will be beneficial. Anyway, don't sacrifice your sleep for the time spent.

"Owls are at best, extroverted artists and intellectuals, or at worst, people who engage in dark arts and exert evil powers"

— T. Roenneberg, Internal Time
